We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Prague Castle for six nights and five days. It was perfect for us. We were in Prague celebrating a delayed honeymoon. We loved our stay, and thoroughly enjoyed Prague as a result. We recommend this hotel for those travelers who: * don't want to stay right in the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas * enjoy lots of walking and sweeping views of the old town and the Vltava river * are comfortable navigating foreign streetcars and metros The hotel boasts the following features: * directly next to the Strahov Monastery * up the hill from Prague Castle (5 mins walk) * on a street car line that takes you directly to the metro and old town * beautiful new interiors and rooms * knowledgeable and helpful staff * excellent bar and restaurant Since it is on top of the hill in Mala Strana, if you choose to walk back to the hotel, it's quite a hoof back up the hill. HOWEVER, since the streetcar drops you 100 meters from the front door, you can decide which route to take. You just need to make up your mind at the outset which route to take because once you choose a path, you're on it for its entirety. RATING EXPLANATIONS Fitness Facility: had a smallish set of rooms with some equipment, but didn't actually use the facility. Location: It is a little out of the beaten path, so while that was great for us, I don't think most travelers would agree. Business Center: two computers in the lobby, but didn't see a printer or a way to print documents. Thank you Crown Plaza Prague Castle.

Our room exceeded expectations; enough space to move around in, comfortable king sized bed, and very nice bathroom, plus free Internet in the room and free wireless in the lobby. (Internet connection was a littly spotty at times.) Most of the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked tours through the Guest Relations Manager, and she was very knowledgeable. Housekeeping ran late (4 p.m. most days) but they did a decent job. Plan to walk a lot if you stay here - but its worth it. The views walking from the hotel are incredible, and it is a very quiet and peaceful location. The hotel bar is expensive, as is the restaurant, but there are plenty of good places to drink and eat close by.

I would like to recommend Crowne Plaza Hotel Prague Castle for all of you who are looking for an excellent service, beautiful place and more than professional stuff. Trust me, I chose this hotel for my Wedding Night and it was great. The stuff and services were the best I've ever seen! MK

Paid 265. EUROS for a "junior suite" which was dark due to dark lamp shades, laundry was exorbitant, bathroom fittings came loose, no soap dish in shower stall, non-responsive manager, totally inept dining room manager who stood looking at us when we wanted scrambled eggs and the chafing dish was empty, waiter had to be asked 3 times for coffee. We asked for a different room and told "not available" when we knew it was as hotel empty. Asked for a lower rate and they would not even respond. We wanted to change money and they wouldn't without more information than we had even though we filled out a form and showed passport when we checked in!!!! The room was very warm and airconditioning not working.The location is very inconvenient and the cab fares high.
Some of this may be due to newness of hotel but training nonexistant and manager we talked to was uninterested in our problems or comments. -
